Client: AAlgar Production Year: 2016 With the release of the third ‘reboot’ film, Star Trek Beyond, came the opportunity to do a cover for The Post Atomic Horror Podcast’s special episode covering the film. I went with a variant of what I usually do for their between-season ‘supplemental’ episodes, a fake & humorous magazine cover, […]
Project Category: illustration
Be it vector or digital painting, pen & ink or mixed media, illustration is something I try to cultivate as varied a skill set in as possible.
As the Post Atomic Horror podcast moved into reviewing Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, I finally got a chance to tackle one of my all-time favourite characters from Trek, Jadzia Dax.
Hand drawn & inked, coloured in inkscape.
Client: Jason R Wallace Year: 2014 In addition to the logo I also did this cover art for the second installment of the Doctor Who Fan Stories. Main figures are hand-drawn, inked, and all other elements coloured & created in inkscape.
Client: AAlgar Productions, and the Drunken Time Travel Podcast Year: 2013 A slight break in the style of these supplemental covers. No fake magazine this time, since it would be the second annual crossover with Drunken Time Travel. Since the gentlemen were discussing their personal worst Star Trek & Doctor Who episodes, I decided to […]
Client: Swarupa Amin Year: 2013 So far a one-off design for my cousin’s birthday, this was based on a photograph taken by the birthday boy himself. Hand drawn, inked, then colour added in inkscape.
Client: AAlgar Productions Year: 2013 A running joke on the Post Atomic Horror Podcast has been that several characters either to incompetent or unloved by the regular crews have been transferred to the USS Hood, including villains. The other running joke is I try to make fake magazine covers for all of these supplemental episodes. […]
Client: AAlgar Productions Year: 2013 The 13th supplemental episode of the Post Atomic Horror Podcast was a little different from the norm, between-season show, focussing instead on a detailed discussion of Star Trek Into Darkness, the new movie that had just released. Therefore the cover art too deviated from the norm of a fake magazine […]
The Sarcastic Voyage podcast went through a bit of a rethink around this time, dropping some segments and refocussing on sketch comedy, including several new bits that were evocative of the golden age of radio; serials and ongoing characters. To pay homage to this age I decided to make a quintessentially Golden Age science fiction […]
Client: AAlgar Productions Year: 2013 My brief for this cover for episode 161 of The Sarcastic Voyage Podcast was simple: the title “Fuck a Two.” The artwork itself has nothing to do with the actual context of the title (a humorous discussion about number fetishists in the show’s introductory segment), but the image pretty-much came […]
Post Atomic Horror Supplemental 11 Cover
Client: AAlgar Productions, and the Drunken Time Travel Podcast Year: 2012 When two of my favourite podcasts decided to have a crossover, I naturally pushed my way to the front of the internet bustle and demanded to do the cover art. The crossover resulted in two episodes, for which I created three covers in total. […]
Client: AAlgar Productions Year: 2012 For this cover of The Post Atomic Horror Podcast’s eighth supplemental episode, I chose to focus on the character of Dr. Beverly Crusher. The podcast is known for its light take on all things Star Trek, giving new nicknames to every character and weaving bizarre convoluted backstories for them. So […]
