Here’s a funny story.
I made this cover on a lark when I reviewed China Miéville’s book on my journal (tl;dr I didn’t like it), mostly because I had an hour to kill/practice, and the cover on the edition I had was awful. A few months later I noticed it on an article on io9, 20 Great Infodumps From Science Fiction Novels. Apparently they’d spotted it on a Google image search and didn’t realise that it was technically fan-art, that it might have been from some international edition.
I guess that’s one blow in the war against bad book covers.
